CNA Advocates

Certified Nursing Assistants have a voice. We are the most powerful advocates for effective implementation for change.  Healthcare workers are the backbone of strong health systems and thriving communities.  Advocacy can make a difference in every single community.  By banning together we can and will make a change for us and the patients we care for.

Our mission is more important today than ever before.

We have created this page to help increase awareness of the issues that concern CNAs and Healthcare workers.  By being aware of what is going on in your state, you can start to get involved.

We will be updating this page as we find the information, not just when we publish monthly.  So make sure that you check back often.

What's Happening in your State

House Bill 2945 --  Would require the Oregon Health Authority to increase the number of full-time employees responsible for investigating hospital-based nurse staffing plan complaints. It would require hospital nurse staffing committees to include three certified nursing assistants, giving them a great voice. Finally, it would increase penalties for violations of hospital-wide staffing plans from $5,000 to $10,000.  Several members of SEIU Local 49 support this bill.
