CNA Pay Will Vary by Location and Experience
By Louis Zhang

There is a huge demand for certified nursing assistants in the medical world. This is an entry level position that helps LPNs and RNs in many different situations. However, because it is an entry level position there is a huge turn over as the people who train to be CNAs increase their training so they can take on different nursing positions. As an entry level position, the CNA Pay is lower than other nursing positions, but it is a great place to start learning about nursing and to determine whether or not you want to pursue a medical career.

The job of a certified nursing assistant pretty much never ends. A CNA is expected to do pretty much every type of work from medical to attending to the personal needs of patients. They are also expected to work in a variety of locations such as hospitals, out patient facilities, clinics and more. Often, CNA Pay is based on what kind of company or facility that you work for as well as the city and state that you live in. Typically if the cost of living is higher in a specific area, then the pay for a CNA will be higher as well.

Certified nursing assistant tasks include things like bathing patients, helping them go the bathroom, assisting them with dressing, getting into bed, getting out of bed, feeding patients, clean patient rooms, monitor patients both day and night for changes in their condition and pretty much anything else that is assigned to the CNA by the RNs or LPNs they work for. Cna Pay for these tasks range from minimum wage for new workers to about fifteen dollars an hour, depending on location and experience. This translates to between $15,000 a year to $31,200 a year for a full time CNA position.

Being a certified nursing assistant may not be the most glamorous job and the CNA Pay may not be the highest, but becoming a CNA is an excellent way to help you to determine how far you want to take your nursing career. What's more, being a CNA is very rewarding, it is an opportunity to make a difference in many people's lives and to feel like you have a job that has value in the bigger picture as well.
