Colorado states that prospective certified nursing assistants must have at least 80 hours of training.
- Minimum of 75 traing hours
- Minimum of 16 Clinical Hours
The Board of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Colorado approves the Certified Nursing Assistant program in the entire state.

Colorado CNA Certification Renewal
CNAs are required to renew their certifications every two years.
Nurse Aide certifications expire on January 31 of even-numbered years and must be renewed to continue practicing.
Transferring Your CNA Certification to Colorado
If you currently have an active nursing assistant certification in another state, you can have your certification transferred to Colorado. Provided that you met the criteria
- must have attended a state approved training course
- Must be in good standing on former states registry
