Pennsylvania free CNA training programs are approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. The nurse aide courses are designed to prepare students for successful completion of course work and passing of the certification exam.
Prior to the start of a Free CNA training class in Pennsylvania, generally students are required to have all of the following:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Physical exam and two Mantoux (TB) tests
The Free nursing assistant courses are designed around several topics planned to instruct the prospective nursing student in his/her role in long-term patient care. Instruction is accomplished through a curriculum approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education directed at: the role of the nursing assistant including legality and promotion of patient rights, communications, infection control, basic body systems, effect of aging and disease on body systems, measures to promote independence and rehabilitation and understanding mental health and social services needs of patients.
