There are only very few training providers that offer home health aide classes in Connecticut, but some employing home healthcare agencies are approved by the Connecticut Department of Public Health to offer the Homemaker-Home Health Aide Training and Competency program.
A home health aide in Connecticut needs to ensure that they are aware of the clients rights and to fully respect the rights of their clients. Through a combination of hands on experience and clinical work, those studying for a career as a home health aide will learn to safely and effectively take care of the clients that they are assigned to.
Some of the home health aide classes may require that the students meet certain eligibility requirements prior to enrolling. These may include the enrollee to pass a physical exam, a back ground check, and may have to be CPR certified before enrolling.
