In Delaware the home health aide training classes will teach the students to provide personal care, activities of daily living, and provide support resources to meet various healthcare requests of the clients while advocating independence and maintaining the clients functional abilities. The Home health aide in Delaware is responsible for appropriately documenting patient care for assigned clients.
Home health aides are also responsible for observing the patients conditions, reporting these observations and documenting the care services performed while performing the home care visit. You will be assigned to take care of clients in a manner that not only promotes quality of care but, continuity and safety of a patient's care.
For those who are interested in working as a home health aide in Delaware, students must have at completed a minimum of one of the following:
- One year of applied experience in a licensed department such as an approved hospital, nursing facility, or a home care setting
- Completed the state approved home health aide course and passed
- A student that is pursuing a degree in nursing and has finished the clinical practicum segment of their degree
HHAs in Delaware must complete twelve hours of CEUs for every 12 months of employmen .
