Private Duty CNA Jobs in Kentucky

Up until recently those who wanted to work as a private duty CNA in Kentucky didn’t have that option if they wanted to keep their CNA certification active.  Times have since changed and certified nursing assistants now have the option to work private duty and keep their Kentucky nurse aide certification active as long as they follow certain rules.

Kentucky Private Duty CNA Renewal Requirements

State registered nurse aides performing private duty nursing are required to obtain a notarized letter from the person they are caring for or a family member of that individual. The letter must list all of the following:

  • Nursing-related Duties Performed
  • Dates of employment
  • Proof of Payment for Services
  • Full Name, address, and telephone number of the individual or family member

The following information must also be included with the renewal request:

  • Full Name (First, Middle, and Last)
  • Social Security Number or SRNA Number
  • Date of Birth
  • Current Mailing Address
  • Telephone Number

Kentucky certified nursing assistants are required to show proof of a minimum of 8 hours of employment performing nursing or nursing-related functions for compensation in each 24-month period to remain active.  If you can’t provide proof of employment, you must retake the SRNA classes and test again.

First you must have your CNA resume ready.  You will need a standard resume that can be used for different positions.  The resume needs to be professional in appearance and should highlight your skills. You should also include the times and the days that you are available to work, along with your pay rate.
